I did some research on the web about Pinnacle Cart and came up with some favorable reviews, but we are always cautious with carts as time and time again we have seen some real troubles in one way or another.
One of the main reasons we have stuck with ShopSite is security and it being SEO friendly. ShopSite does not break and its support system is great.
We have been working with ShopSite as a partner since 1997.
Is Shopsite still the best platform? We can all agree that this answer is yes. If you have known YourHost.com management and staff for any amount of time, you know that we do not stick our heads in the sand when it comes to shopping carts and what new technology has to offer. ShopSite continues to be a steady and stable ecommerce tool .
Over the past 15 years, others systems have come and gone. Some stick, but have their challenges.
ShopSite is like the Tortoise and the Hare in its offerings and it still stands out.

We are fully aware that ShopSite could use a short list of items and we are working with ShopSite to improve.

Many of our customers have asked for a way to allow for Free shipping based on a combination of purchasing metrics.
Issue – Free shipping up to a certain weight and price for single and multiple items. Over that threshold, which was 20lbs, they charge the customer based on matrixed parameters. The parameters they were looking for was Free shipping as long as the total combined weight was under 20 lbs. They needed a way to control shipping cost on items by combined weight.
Solution -
YourHost.com programmers made an addon-module that will allow the store owner to get a wide variation of weight, zip, dollar amount to calculate shipping, and more.
The good news is, you can. The hard pill to swallow is that you will probably be using a CRM templated Ecommerce system that is dynamically driven, which won’t help you get found by the customers you want.
What do I do?
Find a shopping cart and design system that will allow you to found using static pages. Shopsite challenges the Web developer to do just about anything they need on the front end, PHP, ASP, CSS, FTP, MySQL,….etc. and ShopSite itself just does not care and plays well in the sandbox.
In reality, what will I end up paying for my Website? Just remember NFL (No Free Lunch), the more you set your self up with a good solid foundation, like with anything in life, the better the Return On Investment (ROI).
