- Segment your database using multi-part rules determined by customer data, including demographics, preferences-even behaviors.
- Save your searches and manage database segments effectively for use in multiple eMarketing campaigns.
- Smart Lists™ update automatically as your database changes and grows.
Instant Relevance
Relevance is the key to reaching customers, whether your focus is on sales, retention or brand building. And for emails to be truly relevant, you need to send the right message to the right person at the right time. Smart Lists™ make it easy to determine which members of your database should get which message.
Additional Smart List Highlights
- Send emails to one Smart List or more-even choose to send to everyone but your Smart Lists™.
- Organize Smart Lists™ by campaign or use them across multiple campaigns.
- Subscribers can belong to more than one Smart List at a time, but they'll only receive one email per launch.
Use Smart Lists™ with Dynamic Content
Use Smart Lists together with our dynamic content features to send personalized messages within a single email template. Learn more about Dynamic Email Content from Market Manager.
Market Manager's Smart Lists™ At Work
Let's say you're an athletic shoe retailer and you want to send a three-email campaign about trail running to your database:
Email #1 |
| Email #1 will be an informative newsletter promoting the fun and health benefits of trail running. It will go to all members of your database who have expressed an interest in running. |
|
Email #2 |
Email #2 will include an offer for a woman's trail running shoe, so it should only go to females who meet the above criteria.
|
|
Email #3 |
| Email #3 will promote a new women's trail running club, with groups forming throughout the Southwest. It won't be delivered until the end of the year-a full three months after email #2. |
|
- Build a Smart List to include all members of your database who have expressed an interest in running through their sign-up preferences or exhibited an interest through their purchase or click-through behavior. Save that Smart List as Runners.
- Make a copy of your Runners Smart List, then run an exclusion to remove any males. Save the new list as Runners Female.
- Make a copy of the Runners Female list, then further target your efforts by specifying a ZIP code range that includes all cities in the Southwestern United States. Save this list as Runners Female SW.
You've quickly created Smart Lists™ for your entire campaign before even launching an email!
Don't worry about runners who join your database later. They'll automatically be added to the appropriate Smart List based on their gender and ZIP code.
And don't worry about those female runners who moved to the East Coast between your second and third emails, either. They'll automatically be removed from the appropriate Smart Lists™--but not from your database.
